Another single vineyard from Jean-Michel DUPRE, this one planted in 1935 in the climat "Grands Cras" in Morgon covered by compacted volcanic ash called "tuff".
FARMING AND TASTING NOTES
Varietal : 100% Gamay Noir. Vineyard area : 6,25 acres. Density of plantation : 4000 vines per acre. Vine Age : 82 years old. Plot : Grands Cras . Soil type : tuff: compacted volcanic ash and silt. Elevation : 320m. Exposure : East. Farming : Sustainable farming, short pruning in bushes, putting straw in the vines. Winemaking : 9 days maceration with whole clusters in gridded vats. Aging : Aged for 9 months in concrete vats. Clarification : Light filtration. Red garnet robe with purple tints. A nose displaying cherry, liquorice and peonies notes. The mouth is full and rich with savory and fruity notes. A finish marked with stone fruits, peperry notes and minerality on the backbone!
